We surveyed 1,002 Americans to understand how they view corporate political contributions, whether or not they’ve been asked to support their employer’s political giving, and how they view the role of corporate PACs in American elections. Four findings stood out to us.
1. If asked, Americans will give to their employers’ PAC
2. Employees give because they believe it supports the company, even if they don’t agree with leadership’s political views
3. Some Americans — but a minority — support corporations speaking out politically
4. But most do not want corporate PACs to be banned
